![]() Iron Ore Bay, South End road curve was recently closed due to heavy erosion. Winds and water have washed away Betsy Point completely, allowing the southern currents to meet eastern tides. X waves mark the spot and have taken away shoreline to give back sand that floods into the Iron Ore Creek drain and change the shoreline and the view. A detour is still possible via Betsy Smith trail to Westside Road. No need to drive down and look, it’s closed. Driving will only increase the erosion and may be dangerous. ![]() All along the Eastern shoreline of Beaver Island, the land is changing, more beach, more water, more rocks all in different places.
